MY PRACTICE

What I love most about the work I do is connecting authentically with my clients. Getting to know their highest aspirations, understanding their deepest fears, midwifing them through their dreams and life-choices. Human beings are complex creatures. I’m here to help you explore and understand your deeper Self in a compassionate way. Nonjudgmentally. Open to all of your internal contradictions. In time, helping those contradictions come to integration with clarity, healing, and wholeness.

Exploring the self can take many forms.  In your free 20-minute phone consultation, we will examine your intentions and goals for your healing work, the methods you’ve already tried, and how I can help you get closer to where you want to be.

I work with clients in private, sacred space. My practice combines psychodynamic, cognitive, and somatic psychology with the expressive arts, dream analysis, depth hypnosis, energy work, mindfulness, Buddhist philosophy, and nature-based therapy.

For working parents and 9-5ers, I offer some early morning and evening hours as available.

MY PATH

I received my M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, with a special focus in Expressive Arts Therapy. I am a licensed psychotherapist with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist LMFT53925). I am a registered Reiki Master Teacher with the International Association of Reiki Professionals. I am also a certified hypnotherapist, trained in the spiritual counseling practice of Depth Hypnosis, through the Association of Depth Hypnosis Practitioners and the Foundation of the Sacred Stream. In my other life facets, I am a dancer, poet, sister, friend, passionate food-lover, and woman of color.

While living and teaching on a Native American reservation in 1996, I was introduced to Reiki Energy Medicine. Linda Silk, sacred pipe carrier and teacher on the Red Road, initiated me into the Reiki path. From Linda, I learned about tradition, being true to one’s search for Truth, and keeping one’s spiritual integrity. Many years later, I continued my Reiki training with several teachers from the William Lee Rand lineage. I have been teaching Reiki training classes for over a decade and also offer Usui and Karuna Reiki healing sessions.

In 2004, my path led me to the San Francisco Bay area where Anna Dorian of Vibrant Reiki, Greg Harper, Ph.D., of HCH Institute, Catherine Miller Rose of Catherine Rose Healing, and Isa Gucciardi, Ph.D. of The Foundation of the Sacred Stream became my core teachers in shamanic healing, holistic psychotherapy, and integrated energy medicine.

As a psychotherapist, I received my academic training in Expressive Arts Therapy and Integral Counseling at the California Institute of Integral Studies. For my professional training, I worked as a therapist and educator at the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center, seeing parents and children in many capacities, for 8 years. My clients there represented a wide range of ages, cultures, races, socio-economic statuses, and religious and sexual orientations. My professional training at the Prevention Center included humanistic, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed therapy practices, as well as practical skills in crisis intervention, mandated reporting, strengths-based therapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, systems approaches, and solution-focused therapy.
